Michele aka "Grandma GoofyGÇ¥ was born in Seattle, WA March 13, 1945 and left us May 26, 2014 at her home in Eatonville. Michele grew up in Tacoma and graduated from Wilson High School in 1963. She moved to Puyallup, and then to Eatonville in 1988 where she spent the remainder of her life. Michele would want you to know this; "Eatonville was more than home, Eatonville was my family.GÇ¥ She loved this community, whether it be her time as a waitress at the Tall Timber Stump Room, bartending at various establishments, working for Koutney Logging, or her favorite job of all, the 14 years she spent at the Dispatch Newspaper in circulation then taking on the responsibilities of office manager/bookkeeper. She loved bookkeeping, and as her son recalls, "did it for everyone.GÇ¥ The Dispatch was greatly enhanced by her years of dedication. Michele was an honest and loyal employee, volunteer and friend to many. She was a member of the Lions Club, volunteering countless hours, her favorite time being the Art Festival kitchen, where she even brought her granddaughter along to help for the weekend. She spent several years as the cook for the Eatonville Lions Club and made the best meat and potatoes around, which made for many happy men on Thursday night meetings. Michele liked things simple and had routines, including her daily visits at the Eatonville Eagles, her "home away from home.GÇ¥ She would arrive and leave at the same time every day. She was a member and volunteer, loving and valuing the friendships she made through the years there. She was a hard worker and gave so much of herself to other. The love Michele had for her community was strong. She was an advocate for local businesses and promoted "buy local first.GÇ¥ Her belief in keeping money locally was of great importance to her. Michele was a huge Seattle Mariners fan and didn't miss watching a game, she absolutely loved the Mariners. But the Mariners were not her only love, she was a home town sports girl, and the Seahawks were at the top of her list. She was easy to shop for; Mariners, Seahawks, or Goofy stuff. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles daily. Michele's strength and love were to her grandchildren and children. She stood by and supported them during good and bad times, selflessly, no matter what. Michele was predeceased by her mother, Shirley Crait-Stoney, her father Martell Stoney, and her brother Mike. She is survived by her brother, John, Ocean Shores, WA, son Robert, Eatonville, WA, son Jeff (Kristi) Puyallup, WA, daughter Janis (Drew) Coos Bay, Oregon, daughter Robyn (Todd) Puyallup, WA, 10 beautiful grandchildren, and her longtime special friends, Deb & Dave Conley. Michele also leaves behind her loyal, loved, and trusted guardian, her canine companion, Blossom. The family would like to express thanks to the Eatonville Lions Club, Eatonville Eagles, and her neighbor, Jen who helped and checked on her always.
