Eatonville blows past Clover Park

After three innings of their non-league high school baseball game against Clover Park, the Eatonville Cruisers were behind on the scoreboard 3-2. Three innings and nine runs later, they were on their way to an 11-3 victory in Lakewood. The scoring barrage March 31 that boosted Eatonville's record to5-1 started in the fourth inning when the Cruisers scored four times GÇô once on a bases loaded walk to Justin Brandt, and three times on a bases-loaded double by Daniel Fuller. Ahead to stay at 6-3, Eatonville tacked on two more runs in the fifth, and completed the scoring in the sixth inning when Joel Rodriguez led off with a double, followed by a walk to Brooks Moeller. After a passed ball moved the runners up, Kyle Pedersen drove in Rodriguez with a sacrifice fly to left and Dylan Mann scored Moeller with a single over the shortstop's head. Later in the inning, Jacob McCormick singled in Cole Stevens. Pitcher Gabe Streich earned the victory in relief on the mound, and Stevens pitched a perfect sixth and seventh innings to close the game. Eatonville is at Spanaway Lake on Monday for another non-league contest before hosting Nisqually League-leading Cedar Park in a conference matchup Wednesday.
