Free entertainment and 4H animals will be among the sights and sounds of the Pierce County Fair when its 66th year as a summertime tradition starts Thursday. The four-day fair continues through Sunday at Frontier Park in Graham. Here's some of what fairgoers can expect: " Admission prices: $5 (includes adults and children 6 to 15 years old). Thursday is Family Day, with kids 6 to 15 admitted for $1 with the donation of a non-perishable food item to benefit the All Saints Food Bank. Sunday is Military Day, with members of the armed forces admitted free in uniform or upon presentation of their military identification. " Hours: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. " The fair is a major event for 4-H and FFA exhibitors for shows, judging and demonstrations involving farm animals, pets, and arts and crafts. For instance, there will be 4H dog and cat shows, fashion revues and equine events, along with competitions and displays involving pygmy goats, dairy goats, poultry and rabbits. " Entertainment will include hypnotist Ron Stubbs and the Wenatchee Youth Circus, all free with the price of admission. The circus features young trapeze and high-wire performers. " Commercial vendors and community groups will have displays and booths. " Parking will be available on several lots at and adjacent to the park. Visitors are advised by fair officials to utilize the new traffic signal at Hunt-Eustis Road for pedestrian safety.
