Elma lost an Evergreen League high school baseball game Tuesday, which was good news for the Eatonville Cruisers. Eatonville and Elma started this week with two games left on their regular-season schedule and with Eatonville one game ahead of the Eagles in the race for the Evergreen's final berth in the 1A district playoffs. The spot will go Eatonville if Elma loses both of its games or if Eqtonville wins once and Elma wins once. A tie is possible, too. So far, both teams have a loss GÇô Eatonville's was at the hands of league-leading Montesano 10-0 on Wednesday, while Elma fell to Rochester 8-7 GÇô heading into their regular-season finales today on their home fields. Eatonville will face Montesano again and Elma will take on Rochester. The Cruisers will advance to the playoffs if they win or if they and Elma lose. The teams will end up deadlocked if Elma wins and Eatonville loses, and that would force them into a tie-breaker game Friday or Saturday to decide which team gets the district ticket.
