Vaughn endorses Lachney instead of fellow Republican
A Republican candidate for state senator from the Second District who is out of the running after last month's primary election is endorsing the Democrat who is still in the race. Jim Vaughn last week announced his support for Bruce Lachney, who is challenging the Republican incumbent, Randi Becker, in the general election that ends in November. "Bruce Lachney and I are more alike than different. We share the same concerns regarding the budget, the deficit, job creation and education," Vaughn said in a statement released by Lachney's campaign. Vaughn, with 4,393 votes, finished third among the three candidates in the primary, which Becker won by four votes over Lachney in the closest closest primary race anywhere in the state for the Legislature.
