Eatonville High School's Daffodil Festival princess for 2014 will be chosen next Tuesday. Nine young women, all seniors, are in the running. One will be crowned at 7 p.m. in the school's auditorium to represent the school and the community in festival activities, including the Grand Floral Parade in April. The candidates are Hannah Kavannah, Cindy Johnson, Christina Parker, Kelsie Baskett, Emily Saito, Cassidy Forler, Samantha Cox, Darci Clement and Chelsea Toohey. They'll be interviewed by judges Tuesday afternoon as part of the selection process. The candidates will be judged in the interviews and in their stage appearances that night on their poise and other qualities. Twenty-four high schools in Pierce County, including Graham-Kapowsin and Bethel, are picking princesses. One will be named as the festival's queen early next year.
