Wilma (Willy) Hewitt Wilson passed away at home on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, in Ashford, Wash. She was born on May 11, 1950, in Jennings, La., to Earl and Dorothy Hewitt. Wilma moved to Renton with her mom and siblings after her dad died in 1957. She graduated in 1968 from Renton High school. She had a good life, raising her daughter, Shawn, born in 1969. She worked as a catering manager. She married Virgil Wilson Jr. in September 1989 and added three step-children to her family. Wilma and Virgil loved spending time with their four children. Wilma really enjoyed her nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She loved the home they made at Mt. Rainier, and enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, family, and the Seahawks. Wilma is survived by her mother, Dorothy Davidson Hewitt Colby; sisters, Sandra Sullivan and Nita Rutkosky; brothers, Steven Hewitt and Alan Hewitt; her daughter, Shawn; three step-children, Theresa, Matthew and Suzanne; nine grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Wilma is preceded in death by her father, stepfather and husband, Virgil Wilson Jr. A memorial will be held Saturday, Oct. 12 at 2 p.m. at Valley Church, 16431 SE. Renton-Issaquah Road, in Renton.
