Bethel's 2016-17 girls basketball season ended Wednesday with a loss to Mercer Island in the state 3A tournament in Tacoma.
Mercer Island advanced to the quarterfinals on Thursday with its 66-48 victory in the Tacoma Dome, while the Braves settled for a one-and-done appearance.
Despite ending on a losing note, the season was a memorable one nonetheless for Bethel. The campaign included a 20-6 record and a second-place finish in the Pierce County League during the regular season.
