The cost of getting rid of garbage in Eatonville is going up.
New rates for residential and commercial customers of Harold Lemay Enterprises, the garbage hauler that serves Eatonville, were approved Feb. 27 by the Town Council and take effect in March.
The rates are a pass-through to consumers of the increased charged to the town by Lemay.
Among the increases are ones that range from 40 cents for a 35-gallon trashcan that’s emptied once a month to approximately $1 or more for 65-gallon and 95-gallon containers that are serviced monthly, weekly or every other week.
