Red-hot Eatonville wins 10th straight

If the next phase of their 2017 high school baseball campaign is anything like the way it's  gone so far, the Eatonville Cruisers could be in for quite a ride.
Three more victories last week stretched Eatonville's winning streak to 10 games and clinched a second place tie in the 2A South Puget Sound League's Sound Division.
Coming up this weekend is the start of the West Central District playoffs. Eatonville will be in the field as either the third or fourth seed from the SPSL. The positioning will be determined by the outcomes of two games this week – Monday against River Ridge, the team sharing the Sound Division's runneruup spot, followed by the winner of that one advancing to a showdown Tuesday with White River. The latter contest decides the district seedings.
First-round games in the district playoffs are on tap this Saturday. The tourney will conclude May 13, with the top six teams moving on to the regionals May 20.
Eatonville was an offensive juggernaut last week, blitzing Orting 12-2 on April 28, Tyee 18-9 on April 27, and River Ridge 14-4 on April 25.
