In Loving Memory of Richard Edward Boness “Dick”

On February 5th, 2018, Dick went home to be with the Lord. Dick was born in Alliance, Nebraska on October 11th, 1929.  He moved to Washington in 1938. In 1948 he married Wanda Jean Fix, the love of his life for 64 years. He worked over 10 years for the railroad and was a licensed plumber. He was a avid entrepreneur. He and his wife Wanda built and operated Spanaway Speedway for 42 years. They built Tenino Speedway, and purchased Stateline Speedway in Spokane which they owned for 3 years. He had many businesses, car lots, gas stations, 5 food establishments, owned a storage shed rental business, was a land developer and landlord. Dick will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Dick was the pillar of his family. He was a strength, and a gentle place for all who knew him. His knowledge was immense and his love even more. Loved by many friends, who he valued greatly. Dick lived his life, fully and intently.

Dick is preceded in death by his wife, Wanda, his son Chris, and his daughter Anita Lynn. He is survived by his son, Dick Boness Jr., daughter Annette Boness Durkin, and daughter Janette (Steve) Nelson, 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, sister Nancy, sister Nina (Alvin).

Dicks memorial is on Saturday, March 3rd at 1:00pm at Eatonville Baptist Church. Time to share and eat will be at the Ohop Grange immediately following the services.
