Letter: Honoring a great gal

K.H.S. Alumni had their 70th Alumni Reunion in June. We were so pleased to honor our oldest alumni, Reatha Bunny Leber, at age 98 looking smart and sharp as a tack. She is such a joy to visit with. I don’t think she has missed any reunions.

Reatha graduated from Kapowsin 80 years ago in 1939 after transferring from Eatonville in 1937. They nicknamed her Rae.

Reatha has lived in her home in Spanaway for 73 years. Her and her family moved in New Years Day 1946. Reatha and her husband had two sons. She lost one in death and her son is 77 years old. She never worked outside, but did seasonal work – picking daffodils and other things. She always had a huge garden and was happy raising her sons and taking care of her family. She has been blessed with a very sharp mind. She is quite a lady.
