ESD announces holiday programming

The programming for Veteran’s Day in Eatonville School District are as follows:

Eatonville High School

Details: 8:35 a.m. to 9:35 a.m. Nov. 8 at the EHS Gym.

Students Performing (grade level or group):  Varied

Short Overview:  Guest speakers, video, student presentations covering the history of Veteran’s Day and Eatonville Veterans (WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, OIF, OEF etc…), impacts of Military service, positive impacts of Service Members on communities such as Eatonville, and the importance of keeping Veterans Day alive.

Eatonville Middle School

Details: 8:10 a.m. to 9:10 a.m. Nov. 6 at the EMS Gym.

Eatonville Elementary School

Details: 8:30 a.m. Nov. 7 at the EES Gym.

Students Performing (grade level or group):songs performed by EES student body.

Short Overview: Rob Donaldson and members of the American Legion Mt. Tahoma Post #148 will present.

* POW/MIA ceremony

* Brief history of WWII ( the conflict began 80 years ago in 1939)

* Flag folding ceremony

Recognition of our veterans and those currently serving in attendance.

Weyerhaeuser Elementary School

Details: 8:30 a.m. Nov. 6 at the WES Gym.

Students Performing (grade level or group):  songs performed by WES student body. 

Short Overview: Presentation of the flags by Cub Scouts; The leadership students will present information about Veteran’s Day; Recognition of Veteran’s in WES families and in attendance.

Columbia Crest Academy:

Details: 1 p.m. Nov. 8 at CCA Gym.

Students Performing (grade level or group): Kindergarten and 1st Grade Parade. 2nd-5th Grade Performs.

Theme: WWII (80th anniversary from the beginning of the conflict - 1939

Featured guests:

- Bill Klouse: Regional director of Washington Music Educators Association to present $4500 Music Matters grant check for new choir risers at CC

- Rob Donaldson and members of the American Legion Mt. Tacoma Post #148, Eatonville:

- POW/MIA empty place setting ceremony

- Brief history of WW2

- Flag folding ceremony in honor of the fallen
