Community Transit has helpful routes to Evergreen State Fair

Community Transit is encouraging those planning to attend the Evergreen State Fair to make traveling easy by taking the bus.

This is the first time in five years that Community Transit will offer service to the fair every day, Aug. 27 to Sept. 7, with a stop adjacent to the west gate entrance.

Community Transit routes 270 and 271 serve the fair Monday through Friday from Gold Bar and Everett, and Route 271 every two hours on Saturday, Sunday and Labor Day.

Routes 277 and 424 will also stop at the west gate entrance on weekday afternoons.

Free parking is available at Everett Station, 3201 Smith Ave., and at the Gold Bar, Snohomish and Sultan park and rides. Riders will need to walk out to Avenue D to catch the bus outside the Snohomish Park and Ride. Early morning trips will serve the Monroe Park and Ride, but all other trips will stop at the West Gate entrance to the fairgrounds.

The last trips leaving the fairgrounds will be:

Weekdays ' 8:37 p.m. to Everett and 9:20 p.m. to Gold Bar

Saturdays ' 8:43 p.m. to Everett and 8:40 p.m. to Gold Bar

Sundays/Labor Day ' 7:34 p.m. to Everett and 7:40 p.m. to Gold Bar

Complete schedules are available at www.communitytransit.org/schedules and through Bus Plus schedule books on buses. Community Transit also provides real-time bus information at www.myBusFinder.org. Enter the four-digit stop number located on the bus stop and get the next departure times for that bus stop.

Bus fare is $2.25 for adults, $1.50 for children ages 6-18 and $1 for people with a reduced fare permit. Children 5 and under are free. Using an ORCA card allows a two-hour transfer credit.

ORCA cards may be purchased online at www.orcacard.com or in person at Everett Station or the local Safeway, QFC or Rogers MarketPlace. Find all locations at www.communitytransit.org/passoutlets.
