Deceased person found in Al Borlin Park

[UPDATE: Friday, May 22] The Snohomish County Medical Examiner's Office has determined that the deceased male discovered in Al Borlin Park in Monroe died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
The Monroe Police Department learned about the body on Sunday, May 17. The park was subsequently closed on Monday, May 18, as investigators worked to process the scene. Due to a high degree of decomposition, police were initially unable to determine if the deceased individual was male or female. The individual has now been identified as a 22-year-old male and the death has been ruled a suicide.
Al Borlin Park, formerly known as Buck Island, is a 90-acre park located in between Woods Creek and the Skykomish River. The park is east of S.R. 203 and south of U.S. 2.
 
[Original story: Monday, May 18] A body was discovered over the weekend in Al Borlin Park in Monroe.

The body will be released to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner to determine cause of death.
