Dorothy Evelyn Stima, born September 21, 1947 to George Howard and Dorothy Crane in Chicago, IL,
departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 31, 2018 in Lake Stevens, WA.
She was 70. Dorothy was the founder and executive director of the Monroe Gospel Women’s Mission
which was opened in 2005. She was also a member of the Snohomish County Homeless Policy Task
Force. She was a longtime and very faithful member of Monroe Baptist Church.
Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, Frank Stima, children, Pastor John Stima (Linda) of Monroe, Daniel Stima of Buford,
GA, David Stima (Rachel) of Kent, Christina Tuttle (Adam) of Greenback, TN, and James Stima of Everett,
sister, Priscilla Swanson (Rich) of Oak Lawn, IL, grandchildren, Elizabeth, Emily, Ethan Stima, Andrew and
Kate Stima, Braydon and Madison Stima, Sydney, Reiley, Lucas, and Lauren Tuttle, Charlie Mae Stima,
and Ashlynn and CJ Griffith. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Raquel Voss, her parents,
George Howard and Dorothy Crane, and her siblings, Georgia Thompson and Walter Crane.
Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and servant of the Lord and she will be deeply missed by all
who knew her. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018, from 4-9PM at Purdy & Kerr with
Dawson Funeral Home, 409 W. Main St., Monroe. A funeral service honoring Dorothy’s life will be held
the following day, Saturday, April 14, at 11AM at Monroe Baptist Church, 1405 W. Main St., Monroe.
Memorial donations in Dorothy’s name may be made to Monroe Baptist Church.
