Final suspect in September beating, shooting in custody

The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office took Chris Cardinale, the final suspect in the Sept. 18 beating and shooting of a Monroe man, into custody on Tuesday, Oct. 13.
"He was found around midnight on Tuesday GǪ in Marysville by our violent offender task force,Gǥ said SCSO spokeswoman Shari Ireton. "They kind of go around looking for the worse of the worse.Gǥ
Cardinale's arrest came just four days after Bellevue Police took Jordan Jensen-Green into custody, wrapping up a list of suspects alleged to have gone to a suspected "chop shopGÇ¥ and drug den on Florence Acres Road in Monroe on Sept. 18, where 38-year-old Michael Kriegel was beaten with a bat and shot once in the groin. He was sent to Providence Medical Center with a life-threatening head wound.
Following the attack, the suspects allegedly robbed Kriegel's acquaintances in a room upstairs before leaving in two cars ' one belonging to the victim that was found down the road. One of the suspects allegedly fired a shot as they drove away.
Two other suspects ' Michael R. Bruce, 49, of Woodinville, and Troy A. Russ, 33, of Mountlake Terrace, were arrested at a house in Mountlake Terrace on Sept. 23. Cardinale had been seen by law enforcement inside the house with a handgun, but was not taken into custody at that time because he was not a suspect then, according to a criminal complaint filed in Snohomish County Superior Court.
Deputies caught up with Cardinale in a vehicle hours late, the complaint states, but drove off as one deputy was attempting to remove him. He was dragged 25 yards before he could free himself, suffering minor injuries.
The county prosecutor's office alleged Green organized the other suspects to assault Kriegel at the suspected chop shop because he believed the Monroe man had stolen his trailer and was bragging about it. Co-defendants also told investigators Green had driven away in Kriegel's truck, according to the complaint.
