"One hundred percent of the $100 per ticket will go to Housing Hope and will stay in the east county,GÇ¥ said Housing Hope Board Member Chris Gray. "Supporting Monroe, Snohomish and Sultan.GÇ¥
Housing Hope operations are dependent on community-based donations, which in turn help the organization to obtain grant funding. Currently, there are three separate Housing Hope communities being built in Monroe; a 10-home team homebuilding project on West Main near Dennis Way, an additional 10-home team homebuilding development called French Creek Manor, and a 47-unit development on West Main called Monroe Family Village.
The Monroe Family Village will include a combination of two and three bedroom units, all oriented towards low-income families with children. The common areas will include office space and rooms designated for classes and program delivery. The complex will feature onsite property management and in-home case management to assist families transitioning out of homelessness.
In addition to supporting housing services, donations to Housing Hope also help support both the College of Hope programming and the Child Hope program. Knowing that families experiencing poverty and homelessness are not a monolithic group of people with one issue, the College of Hope curriculum strives to provide instruction on a variety of topics including budgeting, cooking healthy meals, resume writing, parenting, tenant rights and more.
The Child Hope program is dedicated to supportive child care services for families while they're at work or engaged in life skills classes.
"Child Hope program is the only licensed child care program in the county that specifically supports children that are recovering from the trauma of experiencing homelessness,GÇ¥ said Housing Hope Philanthropy Manager Alex Lark. "It's the wrap around services. Housing is an important part but you need all those other supporting parts.GÇ¥
