Joan Rose (Crooks) Mest, 79, of Everett, WA passed away on April, 13, 2013.
Joan was born to John A. Crooks and Rose E. Durand Crooks in St. Louis, MO on March 19, 1934. On September 4, 1954 Joan married Henry H. Mest and had three children; Elaine, Kevin, and Carl.
Joan was active in the Girl Scouts in Monroe and was a Girl Scout leader for many years in St. Louis, as well. She volunteered as a Service Unit Registrar in Monroe, was very active with her church quilters at St. Luke's Church in Bellevue, and had a passion for gardening, traveling and dining out, and also enjoyed cooking for her friends and family.
Joan is preceded in death by her father, John A.; mother, Rose; and brother, John W. Crooks.
Joan is survived by her husband, Henry H. Mest of Everett; her daughter, Elaine Thaete (Brian) of Monroe; her sons, Kevin Mest (Betty) of Edmonds, WA and Carl Mest (Rita) of Redmond, WA.-áJoan is also survived by her grandchildren, Ann Milkowski (Stanislaw), Michelle McClintock (Alex), Patrick Mest, Michael Thaete, and Elena Mest.
A viewing was held at Evergreen Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 16 and Joan's Funeral Mass took place at Immaculate Conception Church on Wednesday, April 17.
