Kelly Jean (Olson) King passed away peacefully at her home in Snohomish, WA on Saturday, May 23, 2015 after a hard fought battle with brain cancer. Kelly is survived by her loving husband of almost 30 years, Duane King, her parents Robert and Frances Olson, children Amanda and Kyle King, sister DeEtte Wood, brothers Robert, William, and Timothy Olson, and three grandchildren: Gage Barnes, and Lilliana and Delilah King. Kelly also has a large, extended family in Washington, Oregon, Montana, California and Utah.
Kelly was born on January 5, 1962 in Great Falls, MT and graduated from Charles M. Russell High School in 1980. After completing a five-year apprenticeship program, Kelly became the first female Journeyman Pipefitter from Montana. She later moved to Seattle with her family and graduated from Everett College as a Registered Nurse (RN), and eventually went on to graduate from the University of Washington as a Physician Assistant (PA). Kelly enjoyed a long medical career as both a RN and PA. Kelly was adored by both her colleagues and patients for the excellent care she provided.
Kelly is best remembered for her kindness to others, her generosity, her love for her work, and her love for her family. Kelly was an avid reader, excellent cook, crafts maker, and she enjoyed camping and fishing. What Kelly enjoyed the most, however, was being a loving grandmother.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Holiday Inn GÇô 3105 Pine St., Everett, WA. Friends and family are encouraged to attend and celebrate Kelly's life.
