Willie Grandon

Willie H. Grandon passed away peacefully at his home in Puyallup, WA with his family at his side on March 21, 2015 at the age of 82. Willie was born on February 18, 1933 in Parsons, Kansas to his parents Jay and Luella Grandon. He and Maureen met at the age of 19 while employed at Boeing, Wichita. They eloped two months later and were married for 62 years. Willie served two years in the U.S. Army and returned to the Boeing Company upon his completion of service. In 1958 Boeing transferred Willie to the Seattle area and he, Maureen and their young family settled in Federal Way, WA. He transitioned careers and worked for Safeway as a bakery manager for 17 years before returning to Boeing in 1977. He worked there until his retirement in 1993 and he and Maureen moved to Silver Lake in Eatonville. Willie enjoyed camping, fishing, bowling and motorcycle riding. He and Maureen took many trips on their Motto Guzzi and traveled extensively in the United States and Europe. Willie is survived by his wife Frances (Maureen) Grandon; children: William, Bruce (Nancy), Shawn (Kevin) and Brian; grandchildren Jonathan, Hannah, Daniel, Joseph and Timothy Magin; James, Annie and Benjamin Grandon, Amanda and Austin Grandon, brothers: Jack, Jim (Donna) and Jay Grandon and sister, JaEtta Kent. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 2:30p.m. at Willow Gardens, 4502 6th St SE Puyallup, 98374.
