Lois Bigelow

April 24, 2018 saw the release of Lois Bigelow from her earthy bonds at the age of 89.  Lois was born in Minnesota, moved to Washington at the age of six and graduated from Monroe High School.  She married Thomas Bigelow, settling in Sultan where they raised a family while running Wagely Creek Trout Farm,  a small sawmill, a television repair business and a CB antenna company.

Lois was widely known for her award winning pies and cinnamon rolls, enjoyed by many at restaurants in Sultan. Lois passed her dedication to cooking, gardening, food preservation, and the fine arts of sewing and needlework as well as her love of reading on to her family’s generations. She and Tom enjoyed traveling, camping, mushroom picking and gold panning.  They moved to Chewelah in 2002, and several years following Tom’s death in 2011, she moved to Browns Valley, CA to be closer to family.

Lois leaves behind and will be deeply and forever missed by her children Wendy Kennedy, Bobbie Kinberg and Wally Bigelow, as well as grandchildren Chris, Desiree, Damon, Lauren, Dustin, Matthew and Derek, and great-grandchildren Damon Jr, Daisy, Shelby and Faythe.

Lois and Tom will  be interred along with their daughter Sherry in the Sultan Cemetery in a private graveside service at a later date.
