One dead, two injured in head-on collision on Chain Lake Road


 
Two people are injured and a man is dead after a truck traveling in Monroe collided with a pump truck carrying portable restrooms.
According to the Monroe Police Department, the collision occurred at 6:20 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, in the 14100 block of Chain Lake Road in Monroe. A Sky Valley man was driving the truck northbound on Chain Lake Road when it crossed the centerline and collided with the southbound pump truck. The truck driver was deceased at the scene. The passenger of the truck and the pump truck driver were transported to EvergreenHealth Monroe with minor injuries.
Chain Lake Road was closed in both directions for approximately six hours as officers from the Monroe Police Department investigated the scene. The Washington State Patrol assisted them. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.Photo courtesy of Snohomish County Fire District 7
