Sing your heart out

It's time to get your musical acts coordinated for the 27th-annual Lip Sync Contest hosted by the Sky Valley Chamber of Commerce.

The event will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 15, in the Sultan High School commons area (13715 310th Ave. S.E.). Registration will take place from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., and participants should bring their family-friendly musical selections recorded onto a CD.-á Admission for adult participants is $3 and admission for students 18 and younger is $2. All lip sync participants must reside within the Sultan School District, and songs must be limited to five minutes or less. -á

"As always, we are working to create fun activities for families,GÇ¥ said Sky Valley Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Debbie Copple. "Jimmy Fallon, "The Late Show' has made lip sync a very popular acting opportunity, which is exactly what lip sync is all about! Fun, fun, fun!GÇ¥

Contestants will be judged based on a variety of criteria, with four winners selected from each age group. The divisions include elementary school, middle school, high school and adults.-á

"The adult performances are what make it so much fun for the kids,GÇ¥ Copple said.-á

The Sky Valley Lip Sync Contest is not a fundraiser; it is simply a way to have fun and win cash prizes.-á
