Thanks, Monroe!
Because of the generous support from our caring community and the dedicated efforts of our hard-working volunteers, the Sky Valley Food Bank's "Supplies 4 SuccessGÇ¥ program sent 531 students back to school with new backpacks and supplies. Backpacks filled with paper, pens, pencils, notebooks, binders and the various other items on the District's supply list were provided for students from kindergarten through high school. Our efforts were boosted by a donation of backpacks from Costco too.
We know how difficult it can be for parents who are struggling financially to purchase everything on that list. We are glad to be able to give students a much needed "leg upGÇ¥ as they begin a new school year by providing these basic tools.
