The Sky Valley will honor U.S. veterans at three separate venues: - Monroe Veteran and service organizations, local businesses, the Monroe Historical Society and the city of Monroe welcome the community to a Veteran's Day program on Sunday, November 11, at Monroe High School, 17001 Tester Rd.
The emcee will be Steve Akers, who served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. The speaker will by John Beam, who served through the Vietnam War and is also past State Commander of the Washington State Veterans of Foreign Wars.
The program will include area veterans, Monroe Junior ROTC members, Boy Scouts and the Monroe High School Band
The program is at 1 p.m., with a reception following.
For more information, please call (360) 217-7223. - The City of Sultan hosts a Veteran's Day program on Sunday, November 11 at 1 p.m., as well, at River Park's Veterans' Memorial at First and Main Streets.
The Sultan High School Brass Ensemble will perform, and U.S. Army Brigadier General Robert Reese, who is also Regional Vice President of Volunteers of America's Western Washington Division, will speak.
A reception will follow at the Sultan Community Center, 319 Main Street. - Merrill Gardens will host a Veteran's Day Program on Saturday, November 10, at 4 p.m. at 15465 179th Ave. S.E.
The program begins at 4 p.m. with happy hour, followed by a performance by the Honeybees.
