Monroe Mayor-elect Geoffrey Thomas works with other volunteers in the-áCommunity Downtown Cleanup Saturday.
"Lakeside was kind enough to donate a load of gravel; I'm just raking it out,GÇ¥ said Thomas.
The cleanup was held to spruce up the downtown before the Nov. 30 annual Light Up Monroe Christmas Tree Lighting.
