Eatonville council extends streetscape and design project deadline

At its Sept. 14 meeting, the Eatonville Town Council passed a resolution approving a supplemental agreement of the State Route 161 Washington Avenue North Corridor Streetscape and Design Project for construction contract management services with Tacoma-based KPG for planning, design and construction services.

The primary goal of the project is to provide and upgrade pedestrian features and amenities from the intersection of Lynch Creek Road/State Route 161 and Center Street/State Route 161, as well as provide architectural and landscape amenities throughout the corridor.

The resolution, passed by the town council, extends the contract completion date from June 30, 2021, to Dec. 31, 2022, to allow for completion of the project, which is expected to receive funding next year from the Puget Sound Regional Council, Mayor Mike Schaub said.

“This is just extending us out so we can keep it active through the timeframe until we receive the funds and start the last phase of the project,” he said.
