The Eatonville Lions Club hosted its annual fishing derby at the children’s pond April 23 at Smallwood Park in Eatonville, for ages 15 and under. The Lions provided a free pancake breakfast and hot cocoa for everyone, gave away prizes for the three largest fish every hour from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and awarded the grand prize at 10 a.m. Third-place winners got a hand net. Second-place winners received a tackle box, and first-place winners received a fishing pole and reel set. The grand prize winner received a new bicycle.
The winners in each category are:
Third place: Colton Pooley, Walker Martin and Avery Robinson
Second place: Harper Martin, Karson Rhinehart and Barley Coburn
First place: Bryson Rhinehart, Nolan Smith and Wesley Schaub
The grand prize winner was Avery Robinson, age 4, with a 14 ?-inch rainbow trout.
The Eatonville Lions Club thanks everyone who helped or participated, especially the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife for providing and delivering the fish.
