Cruisers earn scholar-athlete awards

Eatonville High School's girls basketball team, five of its members, and four Cruisers from other sports earned scholastic honors during the 2013-14 winter season. The basketball team as a whole received a Distinguished Scholastic Award from the WIAA (Washington Interscholastic Activities Association). The award from the state's governing body of high school athletics is for teams with collective grade point averages of 3.0 to 3.49. Five members of Eatonville's girls hoops squad - Taylor Wood, Natasha Henley, Emily Boettcher, Lauren Pate, and Kaelyn Voss - were recognized with Nisqually League Scholar-Athlete award for having grade point averages of at least 3.5 while also earning a varsity letter in their sport. The same Nisqually honor was earned by Marcos Sanchez and Isaac Boettcher in boys basketball and wrestlerrs Dylan Mann and Austin Garcia.
