Eatonville wins Kalama meet behind VandenBoom, Henley

Brailee VandenBoom won two individual events, Natasha Henley captured one, and they combined with two teammates to win a relay and help Eatonville roll to the team title in the girls' competition of the Kalama Twilight Invitational track and field meet April 22. On the boys' side, Eatonville had winning performances from Ryan Antonson and Ray Springer. VandenBoom prevailed in the 200 (26.91 seconds) and the high jump (5 feet 2 inches). Henley outdistanced the long jump competitors with a winning mark of 15 feet 5.75 inches. In the 4x100 relay, Henley ran the opening leg, VandenBoom was the anchor and Alexa Graddy and Skyler Simon took care of the middle legs in the Cruisers' victorious clocking of 51.86 seconds. Eatonville's 110 team points beat runnerup Battle Ground in the 15-school field. The Eatonviklle boys finished third in the team standings behind champion Evergreen. The Cruisers were led by the victories of Antonson in the javelin (170 feet 1 inch) and Springer in the long jump 20 feet 5 inches.
