The Pierce County Sheriff Department and Tacoma-Pierce County Crimestoppers are asking the public for help identifying suspects responsible for stealing 11 digital cameras from the Walmart store in Spanaway. Authorities give this account of the thefts: At 12:15 a.m. on July 2, the suspects entered the store on Mountain Highway East. They attempted to remove several laptop computers from a locked case, then took digital cameras and placed them in a shopping cart. The suspects pushed the cart out of the store and fled with the stolen cameras in a sports utility vehicle, a newer maroon Chevrolet Tahoe with custom chrome rims. The cameras were valued at more than $2,500 and included three Nikon L280 digital cameras, two Fuji S4830 digital cameras, two Olympus 820UZ digital cameras, two Fuji S8200 digital cameras and two Sony DSCH200 digital cameras. The suspects, who were recorded in surveillance video at the store (an image is available at tpcrimestoppers.com), appear to be white males in their 20s, approximately 5 foot 6 to 5 toot 11 with medium builds.
