Library trustee dies after RAMROD mishap

The 152-mile RAMROD bicycle ride last Thursday was marred by a-áfatal accident for one of the riders.
Steve Albers, 60, suffered a severe head injury when he apparently fell from his bike on a Mount Rainier National Park road. He died Friday night at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he was taken after the accident.
Albers, a Tacoma businessman, was chairman of the Pierce County Library System Board of Trustees.
The cause of the accident wasn't fully known, according to park and ride officials. Albers was reportedly riding alone when it happened.
The annual ride began in Enumclaw in King County and took riders through Eatonville, Elbe , Ashford and the park on a route back to the starting point.
