A State Patrol trooper from Graham who was making a traffic stop avoided injury when his car was struck by another vehicle last week in the Puyallup area.
Authorities said a pickup truck driven by a 57-year-old Tacoma man collided with the State Patrol vehicle June 26. The mishap occurred on the eastbound shoulder of State Route of 512 near the 94th Avenue East exit, where the trooper had parked after pulling over a traffic violator.
The truck came to a stop 300 feet past the point of impact, officials reported.
Trooper Travis Calton, 27, and the truck's driver weren't injured. Their vehicles were towed from the scene. An investigation of the accident was continuing.
