Robert Corbett

Robert C. Corbett passed away peacefully on June 20, 2015 at the age of 92. Bob was born March 28, 1923 in Tacoma, WA. He was raised in Eatonville on Rapjohn Lake where he assisted his parents as they ran a chicken dinner inn. He graduated from Eatonville High School 1941, went to the University of Washington, pledging Beta Theta Pi fraternity. He learned to fly in the Navy Air Corps in WWII. He married the love of his life, Norma Sjursen, together for 64 years. Bob loved his career in logging retiring at the age of 77 yet continued his "riggin' fitsGÇ¥ well into his dying days. Corbett Logging was well known and respected in the industry. Bob was also a member of Gyro and the Washington Masons. Bob loved traveling to various countries, to away Husky games and Stan Boreson Tours as well as tennis, golf and hunting with his many cherished friends. Bob will be dearly missed as he was most charming, upbeat and funny and full of advice GÇô most often saying "Have all the fun you can!GÇ¥ and "Don't get old!GÇ¥ He lived a long, full and wonderful life. He is preceded in death by his wife Norma, parents Raymond and Evelyn Corbett, and his sister Peg Galbraith. He is survived by his children, Bob (Sonya), Candy and Scott (Laurie), his sisters Sharon Jasmer, Kathy (Bob) Kuper and many nieces and nephews and dear friends. A memorial service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood on July 16, 2015 @ 12:00 in the Aspen Chapel with a reception to follow.
