Saddle up for rodeo

Pierce County fans of rodeo can get their fill in September with two annual events in an eight-day span.

The Roy Pioneer Rodeo is on tap Sept. 2-3, followed by the Washington State Fair Rodeo Sept. 7-10.

The Roy roundup, featuring competitors from the Northwest Professoinal Rodeo Association, will start at 1:30 p.m. each day at the arena at 8710 Higgins Greig Road in Roy..

The 84th annual State Fair action in Puyallup, like the kind seen above from a past year, is part of the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association playoffs leading up to the national finals. Information on tickets and schedules is at thefair.com.
