The Eatonville Cruisers’ post-season dreams ended with a 46-31 loss Wednesday to Olympic in the 2A West Central District girls high school basketball playoffs.
Both teams needed to win in order to stay in the running for the district’s sixth and final berth in the state tournament. They were in the loser-out predicament after losing their first-round games the week before – Eatonville to Port Angeles 44-37 and Olympic to Franklin Pierce 43-39.
With its decision over the Cruisers in the game staged at Wilson High in Tacoma, Olympic will face Fife on Feb. 17 to decide the sixth-place seed.
