Business workshop addresses customers at GROW Sultan

Sultan Mayor Carolyn Eslick is partnering with GROW Washington, the Washington Small Business Development Center (WSBDC) and the Sky Valley Chamber of Commerce to host a free business workshop on marketing concepts for business owners.

The workshop will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at the Sultan GROW Washington Store, at 927 U.S. 2.

The instructor will be Jennifer Shelton, a certified business advisor for the WSBDC. Shelton holds an MBA from Western Washington University and a bachelor of arts in communications from Seattle Pacific University. She also has additional certification in sales and marketing and professional coaching.

As a certified business advisor, Shelton provides no-fee, confidential advising to business owners and managers on loan application packages, forecasting, marketing strategy, written business plans, analyzing financial statements to improve profitability, business expansions and other topics driven by client needs.

The workshop will focus on ideas about understanding and engaging customers, as well as building and maintaining customer relationships.
