Clarence Ray

Clarence Ray, 88, of Monroe, Wash. passed away peacefully on October 30, 2013.
Clarence was born on August 1, 1925 in Regina, Canada. He married Madeleine Marty in 1947. He moved to Monroe at a young age and became a U.S. Citizen in 1984.
Clarence held many different jobs throughout his life; taxi cab driver, John Deere Tractor salesman, and baled hay for
local farmers, but his primary job was working on his dairy farm (RayMar Farms).
Clarence loved to dance, entertain, travel, and enjoyed sharing a drink with a friend. Those who knew him will always remember his sparkling bright blue eyes and great sense of humor.
He told stories of about the time he served in the Philippines during WWII and treasured the photo that pictured him with General MacArthur.
We would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Monroe Regency Care Center for the compassion and great care they provided Clarence over the last nine years.
Clarence is preceded in death by his wife, Madeleine, and survived by his three children, Crystal Ray Silva, Jeffery Ray, and Darren Ray. He leaves behind his four grandchildren, Jay Silva, Jamie Silva (Cheryl), Marlo White (Damon), Jonelle Strange (Josh), and seven great-grandchildren. Clarence will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held on November 16 from 1 to 3 p.m. at 17920 183rd Ave. S.E. Monroe, WA 98272 (in the recreation building at their old farm).
