Tony (Alan) Creswell 47, lifetime resident of Monroe, WA passed away in his home October 27, 2017 after a courageous three and a half year battle against Glioblastoma brain cancer. Tony was born February 1, 1970 in Everett, WA to Smiley and Irene Creswell, the youngest of their five children. Tony was an avid athlete and excelled at all sports from a young age through college. His favorite sport was soccer where he led Monroe High School to the playoffs as their goalkeeper. He earned acclaim for his accomplishments on the soccer field that resulted in a scholarship to Skagit Valley Community College. Tony had great success in his two years at Skagit and his 1988 soccer team was inducted into the SVC Hall of Fame. Tony transferred to the University of Washington as a junior where he switched sports and made the football team as a walk on. The height of his football career included a victory in the 1991 Rose Bowl. Tony’s athletic accomplishments culminated in his induction to the Monroe High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2016. Tony was recognized for his outstanding accomplishments in soccer, football and basketball.
In 1991 Tony met his wife Jada Dunsing. They dated for eight years and were married in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1999. They made their home in Monroe, Wa. In 2003 they had their first of three children. Carsyn, daughter, was followed by sons Hayden in 2005 and Colton in 2010. Tony was a devoted husband and father. He loved spending countless hours with his children and made it a top priority to attend all their events and performances. His family was very important to Tony. Tony enjoyed vacationing with his wife and kids, taking regular trips to Disney parks and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. A UW Alumni, Tony remained an avid Husky football fan and season ticket holder for more than twenty years.
After college, Tony joined the Laborers Union in 1991. Skanska USA Building, a commercial builder, employed Tony as a foreman for the many years before his diagnosis.
Tony Creswell is survived by his loving wife Jada, children Carsyn-14, Hayden-12 and Colton-7. Parents Smiley and Irene Creswell, sisters Kim and Robert Perry, Tammy and Bill Williams and brothers Smiley Jr. and Jacque Creswell, Dan Creswell and partner Rick Houser. Mother-in-law Denise Dunsing, brother-in-law Russell and Brandy Dunsing, sister-in-law Jeni and Cory Pizzuto. Tony was a very attentive uncle to many nieces and nephews; Kristen Creswell(son Porter), Kristoffer and Meghan Perry (daughter Kalli), Kaitlyn and Aaron Croddy, Brandon Fabing, Brendan Perry, Brieanne Fabing, Russell Dunsing III, Alyvia and Madisyn Creswell, Nina and Zoe Pizzuto. Tony was preceded in death by his dear father-in-law Russell Dunsing.
The memorial will be held on Saturday Nov. 18 at 1:00pm at the Rock Church, 16891-146th St. SE #145, Monroe, WA. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to brain cancer research or the Make-A-Wish foundation.
