Cruisers down Warriors to end 7 game skid

The Cruisers have worked tirelessly all season in practice and in games, only to fall short in 11 of their 12 games. All that hard work finally paid off Saturday night as the Cruisers ended their seven-game losing streak with a 59-35 victory over the Warriors at Rochester High School.

The Cruisers led by as many as 35 points in the game.

Leading the Cruisers in scoring on the night was Jeremy Knoblauch’s 16 points.

On Tuesday, the Cruisers took on the Washington Patriots in a league match up at the Patriot Dome.

The Cruisers kept things close and trailed 10-9 at the end of the 1st quarter.

The Patriots then outscored the Cruisers 17-9 in the second to extend their lead to 27-16 at the half.

Eatonville battled back in the third period to pull within five.

The Patriots again outscored the Cruisers, this time 15-6 to take the 14 point victory.

Freshman Shay Brannon led the team with 9 points in the loss.

The Cruisers then hosted the Highline Pirates on Friday at Rainier Connect Arena.

Eatonville took an 11-9 lead into the second period before the Pirates took over.

Outscoring the Cruisers 15-8 in the second led to a 24-19 Pirate lead .

The Cruisers fought back in the third by outscoring the Pirates 12-10 to trim the Highline lead to 3 at 34-31.

The Pirate offense really came alive in the final frame that saw them score 17 points to the Cruisers 12 to take the victory, 51-43

Reilly McIlraith led the Cruisers with eight second half points. Every Cruiser player who saw time on the court scored in the game.

As the week ended, the Cruisers sit at 2-10 overall and 1-5 in league play.

They will travel to River Ridge at 7 p.m. Wednesday to take on the Hawks, followed by a home game at 7 p.m. Friday against the Clover Park Warriors.
