Store worker wounded in shooting

A shooting Thursday afternoon at a convenience store in Spanaway left a victim seriously wounded, according to the Pierce County Sheriff Department. Authorities reported an employee of the store at 167th Street and Pacific Avenue South was shot at approximately 2:35 p.m. and was taken to a hospital for treatment of possible life-threatening injuries. An unidentified suspect who fled the scene of the incident was described as a black male in his teens and wearing a dark shirt and jeans. He was last seen in a white station wagon, the Sheriff Department reported.
