Sheriff Department: Anyone know bank robber?

Authorities are asking for the public’s help identifying a man who remained at-large last week after robbing a bank in Spanaway.

According to the Pierce County Sheriff Department, at 9:30 a.m. on March 6, the unknown suspect entered the Umpqua Bank branch in the 16100 block of Pacific Avenue South and approached a customer-service counter. When an employee told him to remove his hat and scarf, the suspect gave the teller a note demanding cash. He took the money and walked out.

The suspect is described as a white male in his late 30s, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a heavy build and a thin mustache. He spoke with a raspy voice and was missing several of his upper teeth. He was wearing a black jacket with dark gray sleeves, a black beanie cap, black gloves and a black scarf, and was carrying a dark orange or red backpack.
