Julius Rust, born on July 7, 1932, passed away peacefully into his Lord’s presence on December 2, 2017 after being diagnosed three months earlier with end stage multiple myeloma.
Julius lived in Startup. He graduated from Sultan High School, and was the youngest of four brothers (David, Ben, and Jake). He married Esther in 1960, who passed away in 2015. He is survived by his six children: Debbie, Chuck, Linda, Randy, Jared, and Sandy; their spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Julius spent two years in the army after high school, mostly in Korea, before returning to Washington. He worked in saw mills and mining for a short time, before finding steady employment as a correctional officer at the Monroe State Reformatory. After retiring from there in the 1980’s, he was able to spend more time with Esther. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, and gardening.
Julius was active in his church, Grace Fellowship in Sultan,14030 Sultan Basin Rd., where his public memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 16, at 2pm. Memorial Gifts may be made to Grace Fellowship.
