Mildred Delaine Johnsen June 24, 1924 - May 3, 2017

Mildred Delaine Johnsen, 92, known to friends as Babs, died May 3, 2017 at her home in Marysville, WA. Mildred was born June 24, 1924 in Twin Valley, Norman, Minnesota to John H. and Marie Schroeder.  After graduating from high school, she moved to Washington state to live with her sister Beulah.  During WWII, she worked at Boeing as a riveter where she met and married her first husband, Murel Johnsen.  They raised their four children in Monroe, WA. Besides her employment with Boeing, Babs worked at Penney’s in Everett and Campbell’s Resort in Chelan. Babs’ second marriage was to Patrick Moore, extending her family to include Barry, Gene and Kay Moore.

Babs loved her family, her garden and creating quilts and beautiful tatted doilies which are treasured family keepsakes. She was a strong advocate for Pro-Choice and Planned Parenthood.

Babs was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters and her spouses.  She is survived by a sister, Eileen, four children: Gary Johnsen (Jane), Diane Bump (Glenn), Geri Cruz (Arlin), Richard Johnsen (Darlene); four grandchildren: Kelli Winter (Matt), Daniel Johnsen (Marcia), Michael Johnsen (Kristin), Jordan Johnsen and nine great-grandchildren.

The family is forever grateful to Nina, Marilyn and Providence Hospice for their loving care these past months. At Babs’ request, there will be no service.
